Winter wonders

My ears are awakened to the howl of the wind, the roar of the distant thunder and the sound of the raindrops hurrying to hit the window with great force. I look outside and my eyes are awakened by the waving trees, the dark clouds lurking in the sky and slowly roaming across a distant ball of light. My gaze is fixed on the rain and the hail as it slowly slides down the window pane, gently reminding me that life is but a fleeting glance. My nose is awakened to the smell of Mother Nature injecting the air, as the aromas of everything are in all that I inhale. Flowers, shrubs, rivers and trees all shedding their fragrance United as one! My heart is awakened as I cherish my life, inside from the cold, the wet and all the strife. Gratitude builds as my senses recall that I am gifted, loved, warm and part of it all. Winter is truly a time to reflect and restore so that when Spring finally greets us we can draw from our full store. Therese Mc Auliffe.
